Although, Hacksaw Ridge grossed only $67.12M, it is an absolute eye candy for any lover of motion pictures. I honestly commend Mel Gibson for doing such a great job of directing this movie. And for those of you who haven’t seen it yet, the movie immerses you into the battle of Okinawa, heck! you might even feel a bullet graze your ears.
The movie kicks off with a few bland scenes but all stories must start from somewhere before they materialize into award winners. It was a wonderful blend of funny and emotionally breathtaking scenes. A mind blowing depiction of a true story of how we don’t have to do the same things the same way to achieve a common goal. Doss, joined the army as a medic to save lives but not by firing a single shot, as opposed to popular opinion which was to kill the enemies to save the lives of your own people.
Hacksaw Ridge is a timeless piece that reminds us that no matter the circumstance, we all bear the ability to be compassionate. It’s a movie that tugs at the strings of your heart, sparking emotions and providing the inspiration to do good…always. This was 139 minutes of biography, drama and history yes! but also a great deal of heart.
This masterpiece was a breathtakingly wonderful performance by Andrew Garfield. Yes him, the amazing spiderman, the one that would not stop talking. Exactly! That’s the same thing I said. Plus i totally said i was going to give a positive buzz review of Hacksaw Ridge.
