Nothing comes close to this. No visual spectacle. No franchised storytelling. Nothing. If any film has made the biggest statement of the last 20 years in film history, it is Avengers: Endgame. My Buzz Review of Avengers: Endgame is a trailblazer hype of how the Marvel magic has come to be what the world needs at least once in every decade.
I was there at the beginning. I was there when they started this journey with Ironman (2008) and I never imagined that 11 years later, we would be getting the best comic book movie in cinematic history – yeah I said it. Avengers: Endgame was no ordinary feat, especially for a film that juggled over 50 different Marvel characters. I walked into the theatre, not knowing what to expect, whilst earnestly hoping that Directors; Anthony and Joe Russo (the Russo brothers) did some major justice to the film…but instead, they completely blew my mind!
Throughout out its entire playback, I felt it all; joy, anxiety, sadness, and at some point I honestly wasn’t sure my heart could it take any more. One thing that stands out about this marvel instalment is its ability to evoke the audiences’ emotions effortlessly. Marvel successfully utilises the audiences’ built up emotional investment in these characters, over the course of the MCU’s creation, to establish a ground breaking finale. The distribution of characters’ screen time over the course of the entire film was pure artwork, and the storytelling was perfectly constructed geometrically across the timelines of the past 21 films.
In terms of acting, all the actors brought their A-game; especially Robert Downey Jr. (as Tony Stark/Iron Man) who gave the best performance of the film, Chris Evans (as Steve Rogers/Captain America) was absolutely brilliant as well. Chris Hemsworth (as Thor Odinson), Scarlett Johansson (as Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow), Jeremy Renner (as Clint Barton/Hawkeye), Elizabeth Olsen (as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlett Witch), Benedict Cumberbatch and (as Stephen Strange/Dr.Strange) were also the greatest highlights of the film. There are moments in this film that had me cheering like I had stakes in their victory – I completely lost my home training.
Avengers: Endgame is a once-in-a-decade franchised showdown that serves a beautiful end to the journey that started it all. It is the kind of film that every generation will be grateful for, and it has just set the bar higher for what “quality film production” is all about. From “I love you 3000” to checking out “America’s Ass”, the film is perfectly balanced with comedy, heart and some of the best action sequences in film history.
Avengers: Endgame was not flawless, it had a bit of pacing issues. However, the final 30 minutes of the film effectively wraps up one of the greatest storytelling arcs of our time in so many unexpected ways. Marvel shows its fans true love with an unlimited number of easter eggs that pays homage to the past 21 films in the MCU. It does this while delivering the biggest movie climax I have ever seen.
Avengers: Endgame has created the perfect slate for Marvel to begin their construction of Phase 4 of the MCU. With Disney’s acquisition of Fox Studios, the possibilities are endless. While I can’t wait to see the X-MEN, Fantastic Four and Deadpool join the Avengers on the big screen. This is the best 3-hour film run I have ever seen, and I will bask in the euphoria of this cinematic victory called; Avengers: Endgame.
And to the entire Marvel cast and crew…I love you 3000.

The grave course of events set in motion by Thanos that wiped out half the universe and fractured the Avengers ranks compels the remaining Avengers to take one final stand in Marvel Studios’ grand conclusion to twenty-two films, “Avengers: Endgame.”
