The follow-up sequel to one 2014’s major hits is underway, as Kingsman: The Golden Circle official trailer was released a few days ago. The prequel (Kingmsan: The Secret Service) directed by Matthew Vaughn was received with high praises by critics in 2014. And with the bar already set so high, fans would expect no less than the creative excellence delivered in the first movie.
Eggsy (Taron Egerton) makes a comeback, as the lucky unlucky council estate kid selected as a recruit for an elite spy agency, constantly in a race to save the world from impending doom. Kingsman: The Golden Circle official trailer reveals a US version of the spy agency described by the official synopsis;
Official Synopsis:
“When [the Kingsman] headquarters are destroyed and the world is held hostage, their journey leads them to the discovery of an allied spy organisation in the US called Statesman, dating back to the day they were both founded. In a new adventure that tests their agents’ strength and wits to the limit, these two elite secret organisations band together to defeat a ruthless common enemy, in order to save the world.”
Also, the trailer seems to hint at the return of Colin Firth’s character as Eggsy’s mentor; Harry Hart who was supposedly killed in the prequel. However, it remains unclear as to if this would be a flashback or some resurrection plot twist (nine lives baby!).
The US side of things is to be heralded by Channing Tatum, Jeff Bridges and Halle Berry. We get to watch this batch prove their spy profiles on-screen. On the other hand, the likely villian of this saga is tagged to be Julianne Moore.
Official Trailer:
Kingsman: The Golden Circle premieres in theatres on the 22nd of September in the US, 28th of September in Australia and 29th of September in the UK and Nigeria.
